Hinagu Onsen

Hinagu Onsen is a  hot spring resort town in Yatsushiro City with a charming, rustic atmosphere. It is said to have been discovered in 1409, and has healed many people as a therapeutic hot spring town.
The quality of the spring is weak, alkaline, and simple. The spring is said to be effective for rheumatism, neuralgia, and other ailments. The charm of the baths is that each onsen ryokan welcomes visitors in various ways, such as “Banpeiyu bath” in winter and “carnation bath” on Mother's Day in May. Nearby is the Murazu Residence, an old private house that retains its traditional white walls and ”Namako walls”, and other places where visitors can enjoy walking around the town and exploring the back alleys.
