Yushima is famous as an island of cats where the number of cats is said to be larger than local people. Also, this island is called “Dangou-Jima” because of its history that local people once had some meetings, or Dangou, here, at the time of Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion.
It takes about 25 minutes from Ebito Port to Yushima by liner, which is operated 5 round-trip a day. Local special vegetable, “Yushima Daikon”, and fresh seafood attract many visitors, you can also enjoy interacting with local people.
