Hakkaku Tunnel is one of the remains of Yuen Railway that once operated between Kumamoto City and Misato Town. The railway was closed in 1964, there are some remains including Hakkaku Tunnel, which was used for prevention for falling stone, and a bridge pier of Tsurugawa Bridge.
