Kumamoto Yatai Mura opened on June 3, 2022. Yatai Mura is a bustling block of pubs where you can enjoy drinking in the city during the day.

The paper lanterns adorning the entrance and streets along with hanging bamboo lanterns were made by craftsmen in Tamana City. The result is a scene made for Instagram.

With convenient access to the KamiTori and Shimotori shopping arcades, this is the perfect place to grab a drink before a banquet or to go on a pub crawl.

Boasting a total of 266 seats, Kumamoto Yatai Mura attracts an average of 2,000 visitors per day. Lining the 50-meter walkway are 18 bars. These bars were established with the aim of supporting local liquor brands. Each pub offers cuisine paired with the liquor from its local brewery. As soon as the place moment, it's almost like a game of musical chairs.

A touch-panel tourist information system allowing visitors to search for sightseeing and gourmet information was installed at the Jomon entrance along the streetcar line. The adjacent SDGs Square hosts events aimed at regional revitalization and local exchange.

For as little as 100 yen per glass, you can try unique brands of Kuma shochu (a distilled rice spirit) from all 27 breweries in Hitoyoshi, Kuma.

Switched every 2 months, 14 brands of shochu are always available here. Some people enjoy drinking so much that they try all 14 offerings of shochu.
