Located in a section of Aso Kusasenri Parking, Aso Volcano Museum is an ”amusement space” for learning and observing all about the world’s largest caldera and the active volcano, Mt. Aso. The 30,000 years of its history from the formation to the current status of it is portrayed on their kinetic model.
Live images from two cameras set up at the crater are displayed on a wide screen to provide the viewers with dynamic, live experience. The ”Crater Camera Experience” features a controllable camera for various looks of the mouth of the volcano, and the 3rd floor is dedicated to the people of Aso - on its 170 degree screen is a film about the life living next to an active volcano.
