A landmark of food and fun, the Kumamoto Food Stall Village combines 17 of Kumamoto's signature eateries and specialty shops with a versatile event space. Through the center runs the Kaminoyoko Street, where people wander from one side to the other exploring the variety of shops. In this alley-style setting, visitors can indulge in gourmet food and local drinks. Each eatery features a counter, following the old-fashioned rule of one shopkeeper to eight customers, recreating the retro charm of an old street food market.
There's also a vending machine offering tasting samples of shochu from all 27 distilleries in the Kuma region.
